KEF LS LUXE Wireless HiFi Speakers
KEF LS LUXE combines sculptural Ross Lovegrove design, a 165mm 12th-generation Uni-Q driver with MAT, VECO bass control, dedicated amplification and KEF's W2 wireless platform in one complete high-performance music and television system.
The main appeal is integration. LS LUXE brings the speakers, amplification, streaming platform, digital processing and everyday control into one carefully resolved system, reducing the need for separate electronics without treating sound quality as an afterthought.
Its curved cabinet is designed to work visually and acoustically. The result is a wireless speaker system intended for considered living spaces, where serious music performance, television sound and clean installation all matter.
Sculptural Design by Ross Lovegrove
An architectural cabinet shaped to reduce diffraction and unwanted resonance.
LS LUXE continues Ross Lovegrove's long design relationship with KEF. Its softly rounded form avoids the hard cabinet edges that can contribute to diffraction, helping the speaker maintain a cleaner and more consistent acoustic output.
The enclosure is constructed from Bulk Moulded Compound, an exceptionally rigid and inert material. Because the cabinet does not require conventional internal bracing, more of its internal volume can be used by the acoustic system. That matters because a larger working volume gives KEF greater freedom to extend and control low-frequency performance from a relatively compact enclosure.
165mm 12th-Generation Uni-Q with MAT
A larger point-source driver designed for broader dispersion, stronger bass and clearer detail.
At the heart of LS LUXE is a 165mm 12th-generation Uni-Q driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology. Uni-Q places the tweeter at the acoustic centre of the midrange driver, helping sound spread more evenly through the room and creating a stable, spacious image across more than one listening position.
The larger 165mm driver provides greater radiating area than the 130mm Uni-Q used in LS50 Wireless II. Combined with the more generous internal cabinet volume, this gives LS LUXE greater low-frequency capability and a more physically effortless presentation.
MAT absorbs up to 99% of the unwanted sound generated behind the tweeter. In practical terms, that reduces colouration and allows fine detail to emerge more cleanly without making the speaker sound artificially bright.
VECO Bass Control
Real-time driver monitoring for tighter, cleaner low-frequency performance.
LS LUXE uses KEF's patent-pending Velocity Control Technology, or VECO. A small sensor measures bass-driver movement in real time, allowing the system to correct for unwanted distortion and compression as the driver operates.
This active feedback gives the amplifier more precise control over cone movement. The practical result is bass designed to remain tighter, more accurate and better controlled as volume rises, rather than becoming loose or blurred.
Current-Drive Amplification
A cleaner amplification approach supported by direct driver feedback.
LS LUXE uses a current-drive amplification circuit rather than relying solely on conventional voltage amplification. Current drive can offer a cleaner and more efficient way to control the motor system, but it normally provides little electrical damping on its own.
KEF combines current-drive amplification with VECO's real-time driver feedback. VECO supplies the control that current drive typically lacks, allowing LS LUXE to use the advantages of current amplification while maintaining accurate command over driver movement.
Dedicated Amplification for Each Speaker
Separate amplifier sections matched directly to the Uni-Q driver system.
- Low and mid frequencies: 280W Class D amplification per speaker
- High frequencies: 100W Class A/B amplification per speaker
- Maximum output: Up to 110dB
Because the amplification and drivers are engineered as one system, KEF can optimise crossover behaviour, protection and dynamic control more precisely than is possible with a generic external amplifier. This gives LS LUXE a clear role as a complete active system rather than simply a passive loudspeaker with an amplifier added inside.
Music Integrity Engine
DSP designed to improve timing, bass extension and tonal consistency.
KEF's Music Integrity Engine brings the drivers, cabinet, amplification and digital signal processing together. Its algorithms are optimised specifically for LS LUXE to improve phase alignment, low-frequency extension, room behaviour and coherence across different listening levels.
That matters because the best active systems are not merely powerful. Their processing should keep timing, tonal balance and driver integration consistent whether the system is playing quietly in the evening or filling a larger room.
High-Resolution Wireless Streaming
KEF's W2 platform provides direct access to music without a separate streamer or amplifier.
LS LUXE is powered by KEF's W2 wireless platform and controlled through the KEF Connect app. Supported services and playback options include Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music, AirPlay, Google Cast and Bluetooth.
High-resolution playback is supported up to 24-bit/384kHz, with common music formats including FLAC, WAV and MP3. Roon Ready support is planned for 2027 through a complimentary over-the-air software update and should not be treated as a current feature until the update has been released.
Music and Television Connectivity
A complete two-channel system that can also become the main audio solution for a television.
HDMI eARC allows a compatible television to send audio directly to LS LUXE, giving films, television and gaming greater scale and clarity without requiring a soundbar or AV receiver.
Additional connections include optical and coaxial digital inputs, an analogue input, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and dedicated subwoofer outputs on both speakers. The two speakers can communicate wirelessly for a cleaner installation, while the optional KEF K-Stream interspeaker cable provides a wired connection where preferred.
Integration support for Control4, Crestron, Savant and ELAN also gives LS LUXE a practical role in professionally designed smart-home and custom-install systems.
Tailored to the Room
App-guided setup with simple and advanced equalisation options.
The KEF Connect app guides the user through setup and provides control over streaming, source selection and system settings. Normal and Expert equalisation modes allow the speakers to be adjusted for their position in the room and the listener's preferences.
The supplied C3 remote includes backlit buttons and a customisable favourite button, giving everyday users direct control without requiring the app for every basic function.
Available Finishes
- Dusk Titanium: A warm metallic finish suited to contemporary interiors.
- Eclipse Black: A darker, more understated finish.
- Mineral White: A lighter architectural finish for brighter rooms.
Optional S-LUXE Floor Stands
Purpose-built support at the correct listening height.
The optional S-LUXE floor stands are designed specifically for LS LUXE. Finished in Slate Grey, they position the speakers at an appropriate listening height while maintaining the sculptural appearance of the system.
Dedicated stands also provide a more stable and predictable foundation than generic furniture, which helps with placement, cable management and consistent imaging.

The Audio Experts Take
LS LUXE makes a lot of sense when the brief calls for a serious stereo system without a stack of separate electronics. It combines high-resolution streaming, television connectivity, substantial dedicated amplification and KEF's latest driver-control technologies in a system designed to be easier to live with than a conventional component setup.
The larger 165mm Uni-Q, rigid BMC cabinet and VECO-controlled bass system suggest a speaker designed to deliver greater scale and low-frequency authority than KEF's smaller wireless models. The three finishes and optional stands also give it a clear place in design-led rooms where the system needs to look as resolved as it sounds.
What we like here is that the visual design is not separate from the engineering. The curved enclosure, cabinet material, driver layout and digital control system all contribute to the same goal: a cleaner, more coherent and more room-friendly active loudspeaker system.
