Listening Experience

Tuesday 13 October 2026 | $30 per person

We’re teaming up with our good friends at Advance Audio for a special evening dedicated to great music, serious hi-fi and the simple pleasure of sitting down and actually listening.

The idea for the night is pretty straightforward: bring together a selection of equipment we genuinely enjoy, set it up properly, play some great music and give everyone the time to hear what these systems can really do.

Throughout the evening we’ll be running demonstrations from KEF, Hegel, AudioQuest and Nordost, covering everything from compact wireless systems through to dedicated two-channel hi-fi and home cinema.

KEF Cinema

We’ll be running a dedicated KEF Cinema demonstration, giving you the chance to experience what a properly designed home cinema system can do when the speakers, electronics and room are working together.

If you’ve only ever heard movie sound through a television, soundbar or a basic surround system, this one should be a bit of an eye-opener.

KEF R Series

For traditional two-channel listening, we’ll be demonstrating the KEF R3 Meta and KEF R7 Meta.

This gives us a great opportunity to compare a serious standmount speaker with a full-size floorstanding system and hear how cabinet size, bass extension and room interaction change the presentation.

We’ll be pairing the system with the Hegel H200, giving us plenty of power and control while keeping the system clean and simple.

KEF Wireless

We’ll also have a good selection of the KEF Wireless range available to hear, including:

  • KEF LS50 Wireless
  • KEF LS60 Wireless
  • KEF LSX
  • KEF LS Luxe

These systems are perfect for anyone who wants genuinely good sound without building a traditional rack full of equipment.

Cables, accessories and system setup

AudioQuest and Nordost will also feature throughout the night, giving us the opportunity to look at cables, accessories and some of the smaller changes that can help get more from a system.

It’s not about throwing accessories at everything and hoping for magic. We’ll demonstrate them properly so you can listen for yourself and decide whether the difference matters to you.

And because it shouldn’t feel like a seminar...

Rochford Estate will be joining us for whiskey and wine tasting, and we’ll have food, juice and soft drinks available throughout the evening.

There’ll also be a door prize on the night.

So whether you’re planning a new system, thinking about an upgrade, curious about wireless hi-fi or just fancy an evening listening to some very nice gear with a glass in hand, you’re more than welcome.

Tickets are $30 per person and spaces will be limited.

Come for the hi-fi. Stay for the whiskey.
