Overview
The Performance P7 is a dynamic centre channel speaker capable of delivering spectacular sound for a variety of applications. With a perfect balance of power and refinement, these speaker is a great choice for home cinema to match with our P15, P28 and P8 floor standers.
Cabinetry
The P7 features a striking timber cabinet. This beautifully engineered cabinet has a sealed enclosure configuration and feature 25mm thick solid MDF timber walls. Two stunning finishes are available, real timber (Bubinga) veneer or a gloss Piano Graphite. The cabinet is also extensively braced to prevent unwanted audio interactions and resonances.
Drivers
The P7 uses a 35mm dual concentric diaphragm tweeter with a wave guided centre plug. An extended frequency response beyond 40kHz, a full octave above most conventional dome tweeters, results in a silky smooth tone that is the hallmark of the entire Performance range.
The Performance P7 uses a pair of the same 6.5" bass drivers found in Whatmough's flagship performance
speakers, the Performance P33i. These drivers feature a 33mm high temperature voice coil and a large double magnet system to ensure stunning dynamics and bass response from a compact floor standing speaker.
Crossover Network
Our no compromise approach has been applied to the crossover network found inside the Performance P7 Centre Channel. High quality polypropylene film capacitors housed in a non-magnetic case with pure copper soldered lead-out wires and air-cored coils feature throughout. Each crossover is meticulously point-to-point hard wired to ensure you enjoy cleaner, more accurate, music and the maximum excitement from home theatre.
Binding Posts
The Performance P7 Centre Channel features a bi-wireable array of high quality binding posts that can accommodate banana plug, spade or bare wire connections. For best performance we always recommend running the P7 in bi-wire configuration to better benefit from our special bi-wire design.
