Upgraded all-in-one vinyl system with Pro-Ject belt-drive turntable, carbon-fibre tonearm, Ortofon 2M Red cartridge, 100W bi-amplified speakers and Bluetooth, optical and USB connectivity.
THE+RECORD PLAYER Special Edition keeps the same integrated one-cabinet concept as the standard model but upgrades the analogue front end with a carbon-fibre tonearm and Ortofon 2M Red cartridge. That makes it the version to choose when vinyl performance is the priority but a separate amplifier and speaker system is still not practical.
The speaker, amplifier and digital-connectivity platform remains built into the cabinet, so the product retains the simplicity that makes the standard model appealing.
Carbon-Fibre Tonearm and 2M Red
The important Special Edition upgrade is at the record groove
A Pro-Ject belt-drive platform is fitted with a carbon-fibre tonearm and Ortofon 2M Red moving-magnet cartridge. Compared with the standard OM10/aluminium-arm configuration, this gives the Special Edition a more ambitious vinyl front end.
Integrated Stereo Speaker System
Two-way bi-amplified sound without separate speakers
Two high-excursion 3.5-inch woofers and two 1-inch soft-dome tweeters are driven by Class-D amplification with up to 100W total maximum power. Double-precision DSP manages the integrated speaker system.
Bluetooth, Optical and USB
Keep the system useful for TV and digital sources too
Bluetooth covers casual wireless playback, optical input can accept a digital source or television, and USB provides computer connectivity. The system can therefore remain the room's main audio hub rather than being limited to records.
