Description
Marantz NA6005 Network Audio Player
Network Audio Player with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay, Internet Radio and 24-bit/192kHz Digital Audio Support
The Marantz NA6005 is a network audio player built for customers who want to add streaming, internet radio and digital playback to a traditional hi-fi system without replacing their amplifier. Marantz positions it as an archived network audio player with built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay, internet radio, Spotify Connect, DLNA 1.5, front USB playback and support for a wide range of lossless and lossy formats.
This is the sort of component that makes sense in a stereo rack where the amplifier is still doing the heavy lifting but the system needs modern source flexibility. Marantz also lists HDAM + HDAM SA2, a CS4398 DAC, headphone output, remote app support for iOS and Android, and optical digital input/output for broader system use.
Built for Network Streaming
A bridge between classic hi-fi and modern music access
The strongest part of the NA6005 is its streaming feature set. Marantz lists streaming audio from PC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, internet radio, AirPlay audio streaming, vTuner, Spotify Connect, Pandora, SiriusXM, and DLNA Certified v1.5 support.
- Existing two-channel hi-fi systems
- Streaming music from a home network
- Internet radio listening
- Customers adding network audio to older amplifiers and receivers
Wide File Format Support
High-resolution playback for serious digital libraries
Marantz lists support for a broad range of formats, including MP3, WMA, AAC, DSD, FLAC 192/24, ALAC 96/24, WAV 192/24 and AIFF 192/24. The NA6005 also supports gapless playback for FLAC, WAV, ALAC, DSD and AIFF.
CS4398 DAC and Marantz HDAM Output Stage
A proper hi-fi source component, not just a streamer
Marantz specifies the NA6005 with a CS4398 DAC IC, multi-bit delta-sigma D/A conversion, and HDAM SA2 used in the low pass filter stage, output buffer and headphone amplifier. Marantz also lists HDAM + HDAM SA2 in the feature summary.
Front USB and Headphone Output
Easy everyday access from the front panel
Marantz lists USB Audio (Front) with Made for iPod and Made for iPhone support, plus a headphone buffer using HDAM-SA2.
- Plugging in USB media directly
- Connecting iPod or iPhone devices
- Casual headphone listening without extra gear
Optical Digital Input and Output
Useful for TV and digital source integration
Marantz lists digital input: optical yes and digital output: optical yes, with sample rate digital in up to 192kHz / 24-bit. Marantz does not list coaxial digital input or output on the archived AU product page.
- TV-linked stereo systems via optical
- Feeding another compatible DAC or recorder
- Adding digital connectivity to an existing amplifier-based setup
Wi-Fi Sharing, Remote App and Ethernet
Flexible control and setup options
Marantz lists Wi-Fi Sharing, WPS, remote app support for iDevice and Android, and an Ethernet port. It also lists Flasher In / IP control and Marantz Remote Bus support for broader integration.
Practical Full-Width Hi-Fi Form Factor
Easy to match with traditional Marantz separates
The NA6005 uses Marantz’s familiar full-width chassis format with a metal front panel, detachable power cable, and supplied RC004NA remote control. Maximum dimensions are listed as 17.32 x 14.57 x 4.13 inches, with weight at 13.23 lbs.

The Audio Experts Take
The NA6005 makes a lot of sense for customers who already own a good amplifier and just want to modernise the source side of the system. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay, Spotify Connect, internet radio and front USB access give it much broader day-to-day usefulness than a traditional CD-only source.
It is also clearly built as a proper hi-fi component rather than a throwaway streamer. The Marantz HDAM output stages, CS4398 DAC and full-width chassis help give it the feel of a serious stereo source component, even though it now sits in the archive range.
