Description

Marantz AV 10 Reference 15.4-Channel AV Processor with HEOS Built-in

Reference 15.4-channel AV processor with balanced outputs, HEOS Built-in, 8K HDMI, four independent subwoofer outputs and advanced immersive-audio processing for large dedicated home theatre systems.

The Marantz AV 10 is the control centre for a reference-class separates system. It provides the decoding, switching, room correction, streaming and preamplification while dedicated external power amplifiers drive the loudspeakers.

Its 15.4-channel architecture is aimed squarely at larger immersive systems where flexibility, channel count and subwoofer integration matter as much as headline power.

15.4-Channel Processing

Enough channels for ambitious immersive layouts

The AV 10 supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, Auro-3D and IMAX Enhanced processing, giving system designers the channel count required for large bed-layer and height-speaker configurations.

Balanced Outputs and HDAM Circuitry

Designed to feed serious external power amplification

Balanced XLR pre-outs are provided alongside RCA connections, allowing the AV 10 to integrate cleanly with premium multi-channel power amplifiers and rack-based cinema systems. Marantz HDAM circuitry is used throughout the analogue stage.

Four Independent Subwoofer Outputs

More useful bass-system control for multi-sub rooms

Four independently assignable subwoofer outputs give the installer more control over complex bass layouts. From a system-matching point of view, multiple subwoofers are normally used to improve seat-to-seat consistency, not simply to make the room louder.

8K HDMI and HEOS Built-in

Modern video switching with network music built in

Seven HDMI inputs support modern 8K/60 and 4K/120 sources, while HEOS Built-in provides network streaming and multi-room audio integration. The AV 10 also supports AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth for everyday source flexibility.

Room Correction Options

Audyssey included, Dirac available as an upgrade path

Audyssey MultEQ XT32 is built in for calibration and bass management. Dirac Live support provides an additional upgrade path for systems where more advanced room-correction tools are desired.

System Fit and Buying Advice

With Marantz, start with the speaker layout rather than the receiver or processor itself. Decide how many bed, height and subwoofer channels the room genuinely needs, then work backwards into amplification and processing. That keeps the system from being over-specified in one area while missing channels or flexibility somewhere else.

Important Notes

  • The AV 10 is a processor and requires external power amplification.
  • Plan rack ventilation, amplifier allocation, subwoofer layout and cable routes as a complete system before installation.

The Audio Experts Take

The AV 10 belongs in a cinema where the processor and power amplifiers are being chosen as separate building blocks. It gives you the channel count, subwoofer control and connectivity to design a large system properly, but it also deserves the same attention to speaker layout, amplification, calibration and ventilation as the rest of the room. If you are considering an AV 10, we would normally plan the complete electronics package with you rather than treat the processor as an isolated purchase.
