Description

LG OLED evo AI G6 4K Smart TV 2026 — 55, 65, 77, 83 & 97 Inch

The LG OLED evo AI G6 is a Gallery-style 4K OLED range for customers who want precise OLED contrast, stronger bright-room performance, Alpha 11 Gen3 processing and serious gaming support across five screen sizes.

The whole point here is simple: combine OLED’s pixel-level black control with a brighter, more reflection-conscious picture system and a chassis that looks properly considered on the wall. It suits mixed-use rooms where films, streaming, sport and gaming all matter, rather than forcing the system towards one narrow job.

Across the range you get 4K OLED, the Alpha 11 AI Processor 4K Gen3 with Dual AI Engine, Dolby Vision, FILMMAKER MODE, webOS 26, four HDMI inputs and a 60W 4.2-channel audio system. The 55–83-inch models add Hyper Radiant Colour Tech, Brightness Booster Ultra, Certified Reflection Free Premium and VRR up to 165Hz; the 97-inch model uses Brightness Booster and tops out at 120Hz VRR.

Brighter OLED for Real Rooms

Strong highlights without giving up OLED black.

The 55, 65, 77 and 83-inch G6 models combine Hyper Radiant Colour Tech with Brightness Booster Ultra. The aim is not simply to make the entire screen brighter, but to give highlights, colour and fine detail more presence while retaining the pixel-level black control that makes OLED so effective with films and dark scenes.

Certified Reflection Free Premium also helps the smaller four sizes remain easier to watch in rooms with ambient light. It does not remove the need for sensible screen placement, but it gives the G6 a more flexible role in living rooms that cannot be turned into a dark cinema every time the TV is switched on.

The 97-inch model is specified differently. It uses Brightness Booster rather than Brightness Booster Ultra, making absolute screen scale its main advantage rather than matching every picture and gaming specification of the smaller G6 models.

Alpha 11 Gen3 Picture Processing

Better source handling matters more as the screen gets larger.

The Alpha 11 AI Processor 4K Gen3 with Dual AI Engine handles upscaling, dynamic tone mapping and picture optimisation across the range. Features include Alpha 11 AI Super Upscaling 4K, Dynamic Tone Mapping Ultra, AI HDR Remastering and AI Picture Pro.

That matters because not everything watched on a premium television begins as pristine 4K content. Broadcast television, compressed streaming and older material can expose their limitations more clearly on a large screen, so processing quality becomes increasingly important as you move from 65 inches into the 77, 83 and 97-inch sizes.

Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG are supported, while FILMMAKER MODE provides a useful option when the priority is preserving the intended cinematic presentation rather than applying aggressive motion or picture enhancement.

Cinema, Sport and Gaming

Four capable HDMI inputs and properly specified gaming support.

All four HDMI inputs support 4K/120Hz signals along with VRR, ALLM, Quick Media Switching and Quick Frame Transport. HDMI 2 carries eARC for connection to a compatible soundbar, AV receiver or processor.

The 55–83-inch models use native 120Hz panels with VRR up to 165Hz. The 97-inch model remains a native 120Hz display with VRR up to 120Hz. Dolby Vision gaming at 4K/120Hz, NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility, AMD FreeSync Premium, HGiG and LG’s Game Optimiser are also supported.

The practical distinction is important. Console users are well covered by 4K/120Hz across the range, while compatible PC gamers gain the higher VRR ceiling on the 55–83-inch models. The 97-inch model is primarily about cinematic scale and should not be presented as having the same 165Hz capability.

Gallery Design and Installation Planning

The wall, bracket and cable route are part of the product.

The G6 uses a slim Gallery-style design intended to sit neatly within a considered room. Achieving the cleanest result requires more than choosing a bracket: wall structure, VESA compatibility, power position, HDMI cable routing, ventilation and service access should all be planned before installation.

The size-specific VESA patterns range from 300 x 200mm on the 55-inch model to 600 x 400mm on the 97-inch model. Bracket capacity must be matched to the television’s weight without stand, not selected by screen size alone.

The 83 and 97-inch variants are serious installation products. The 97-inch television is 2,155mm wide and weighs 57kg without its stand, so doorway access, stairs, lifts, wall structure, handling space and professional installation should be decided before purchase rather than after delivery.

Smart TV and Everyday Control

webOS 26 with casting, home control and personalised features.

webOS 26 provides the smart-TV platform, supported by Google Cast, Apple AirPlay, Apple Home, LG ThinQ, Home Hub, Multi View and the supplied AI Magic Remote MR26.

LG also lists AI-assisted search, voice recognition, AI Chatbot and personalised picture and sound tools. These features can be useful for everyday navigation, but internet access, account registration, language support and regional service availability may be required.

LG lists security updates for the G6 range through 31 December 2030.

Built-In Sound and System Matching

Useful television audio with a clear upgrade path.

The G6 range includes a 60W 4.2-channel down-firing speaker system with Dolby Atmos, Alpha 11 AI Sound Pro, virtual 11.1.2-channel up-mixing, Clear Voice Pro and WOW Orchestra support.

That is more substantial than the audio system found in many slim televisions, but a display of this quality still makes the most sense with audio planned to match. HDMI eARC provides the cleanest route to a compatible soundbar or AV receiver, particularly with the 77, 83 and 97-inch models where the picture scale can quickly outgrow the apparent scale of built-in sound.

LG’s published audio codec list does not include DTS. Customers relying on DTS soundtracks should confirm their source-player, television and AV-receiver signal path before finalising the system.

Available Variants

The shared G6 architecture remains consistent across the range, but screen size changes room impact, handling requirements and mounting specifications. The 97-inch model also differs in its brightness system and maximum VRR rate.

Important Notes

  • The 97-inch model does not share the Brightness Booster Ultra or 165Hz VRR specification of the 55–83-inch variants. It uses Brightness Booster and supports VRR up to 120Hz.
  • The 165Hz figure is a maximum VRR capability for compatible sources on the 55–83-inch models. Standard film, broadcast and console content does not automatically run at 165Hz.
  • Wall-mount brackets, stands and package contents should be confirmed for the selected size before ordering.
  • Bracket load rating, VESA compatibility, wall structure, power location and cable access must all be checked before wall mounting.
  • The 83 and 97-inch models require careful delivery-access planning and professional handling. The 97-inch box is approximately 2365mm wide and 1530mm high.
  • AI, voice and connected services may require internet access, account registration and supported regional services.
  • LG’s published codec list does not include DTS. Confirm the intended source-to-receiver audio path where DTS playback matters.
  • OLED is better suited to varied home-entertainment content than permanent static signage. Leave the television’s built-in OLED-care functions enabled.
  • Confirm current Australian warranty conditions for the selected model before ordering.

The Audio Experts Take

The 55 and 65-inch options make sense where the G6’s picture quality and Gallery-style design matter more than absolute screen scale. The 77 and 83-inch models are the more cinematic choices for larger lounges and media rooms, provided the seating distance and wall width support them.

The 97-inch model is a project product rather than a casual box purchase. Delivery access, wall structure, bracket selection, cable planning and professional handling should be decided before ordering. Its enormous screen area is the reason to choose it, while the smaller models retain the range’s higher 165Hz VRR ceiling and Brightness Booster Ultra specification.

What we like here is the balance. This is not just an OLED panel in a thin frame. Stronger bright-room performance, four capable HDMI inputs, Dolby Vision, serious gaming support and clean wall integration give the G6 a clear role as the main display in a high-quality mixed-use entertainment system.
