A 2-channel network DSP power amplifier for KEF custom-install and outdoor systems, combining flexible channel allocation with quiet passive cooling.

KASA 2-250M is built for installed systems where amplification and DSP need to be treated as part of the speaker design. Its 2 channels make it suitable for distributed outdoor zones, architectural systems and projects where rack space and predictable thermal behaviour matter.

The amplifier uses a Class D output stage with advanced GaN FET devices and silent passive cooling. That is useful in residential racks because there is no fan noise to manage, although the rack still needs sensible ventilation and service access.

Power That Can Be Allocated Around the Project

Single-channel and bridged ratings let the installer match channels to different speaker roles.

Single-channel output is rated at 250W into 4 ohms and 125W into 8 ohms at 1% THD. Bridged output is rated at 500W into 4 ohms and 500W into 8 ohms.

With all channels driven, the published figure is 250W per channel @ 4 ohms. Keeping these test conditions separate matters because a distributed system can load several channels at once, while a bridged subwoofer channel has a different requirement again.

Rack and Control Planning

Network DSP amplification belongs in the system design before cable is installed.

The chassis is 88 x 427 x 398mm and the rack-bracket depth/width figure is 88 x 481.9 x 430.5mm. Power input is universal 100-240VAC 50/60Hz, standby draw is below 2W and cooling is passive.

For outdoor work, confirm the loudspeaker count, impedance, cable length and any bridged subwoofer channels before assigning amplifier channels. That avoids changing the rack or cable topology after the landscape work is finished.
