The Aperta Sub is useful when the problem is vibration travelling from the subwoofer into the floor, cabinet or surrounding structure. It does not replace proper subwoofer placement or calibration, but it can reduce mechanical coupling and the rattles that come with it. We have it on the floor and would use it when the subwoofer's weight fits the stand and the support surface is part of the problem you are trying to solve.
