Bowers & Wilkins PX8i Review – Two Years In

I’ve been using the Bowers & Wilkins PX8i as my daily headphones for the past two years, and honestly, they’ve been nothing short of amazing.

From the moment you put them on, the build quality speaks volumes – the leather ear cups are ultra-comfortable and feel absolutely premium against the skin. Long listening sessions? No problem. These are the kind of headphones you forget you’re wearing.

Build Quality:
After two years of solid daily use, these headphones are still in remarkable condition. A few light scratches here and there, sure, but nothing that takes away from their premium feel. The headband has loosened up slightly in terms of flexibility, but functionally it's still rock solid. To really put it to the test, I even handed them over to my 16-year-old for four months – and if that’s not a stress test, I don’t know what is. Despite the rougher handling, they’ve held up beautifully. That’s proper engineering.

Sonically, they’re tuned to impress. The bass is tight, detailed, and seemingly endless – it’s got that clean Bowers & Wilkins authority without ever overwhelming the mids or highs. The balance is beautiful, making them just as enjoyable for a bit of casual listening as they are for diving into complex, layered tracks.

The Bowers & Wilkins app adds real depth to the experience. It’s intuitive, clean, and gives you seamless control over noise cancellation, passthrough (transparency mode), and tone. The EQ functionality works fantastically, though if I had one critique, it would be that I’d love to see more granular steps in the tone control for finer tuning.

Noise-canceling is excellent – it cuts out the chaos without compromising the clarity of your music – and passthrough mode is surprisingly natural when you need to stay aware of your surroundings.

Would I recommend them? Without hesitation. These are high-end headphones that feel every bit as luxurious as they sound. Whether you're at home, commuting, or working on the go, the PX8i delivers.
