BenQ W4100i – 4K HDR LED Home Theatre Projector
Now on display at The Audio Experts
Welcome to next-gen home cinema. The BenQ W4100i isn’t just another 4K projector — it’s a precision-calibrated, LED-powered, Android TV-equipped cinematic beast that delivers jaw-dropping performance straight out of the box. If you’re ready to level up your movie nights, this one’s worth a long, serious look.
Key Features – Expertly Explained
True 4K UHD Resolution
With 8.3 million individual pixels, the W4100i serves up real-deal 4K clarity — not upscaled, not “kinda-sorta”, but actual pixel-perfect UHD. You’ll notice the difference in sharpness during wide cinematic shots, detailed textures, and especially when watching native 4K content on platforms like Netflix, Disney+, or UHD Blu-rays.
100% DCI-P3 Wide Colour Gamut
Covering the full DCI-P3 colour space (the same one used by Hollywood studios), this projector reproduces colours with exceptional accuracy and richness. Reds are deeper, greens are more natural, and skin tones look lifelike — not sunburnt. This is critical if you care about seeing films the way they were actually mastered.
LED Light Source with 30,000-Hour Lifespan
Say goodbye to dimming bulbs and expensive replacements. The long-life LED light source maintains consistent brightness and colour performance for up to 30,000 hours — that’s a decade of use at 8 hours a week. It also means faster startup, quieter operation, and more stable performance over time.
HDR10+ and HLG Support
Supporting both HDR10+ and Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG), the W4100i handles high dynamic range content beautifully. You’ll get brighter highlights, deeper blacks, and more nuanced shadows — especially noticeable in darker, moody films or high-contrast sports broadcasts.
Factory Calibrated with Delta E ≤3 Accuracy
Every W4100i unit is individually calibrated before it leaves the factory to ensure colour accuracy within a Delta E of ≤3. In plain terms, this means it’s incredibly true-to-life right out of the box — no need to fiddle with settings or hire a calibrator just to get great picture.
Android TV Built-In
Forget clunky media players — Android TV is built right in, with Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, Prime Video and more ready to go. You get a clean interface, voice search via the remote, and regular updates — plus less mess on your entertainment unit.
1.6x Zoom and Vertical Lens Shift
Installation is refreshingly flexible thanks to the generous zoom range and vertical lens shift. Even if your ceiling mount or shelf isn’t perfectly centred or height-aligned, you can still get a square, crisp image without keystone correction — and without needing a pro installer.
Filmmaker Mode for Purists
Filmmaker Mode disables all post-processing (like motion smoothing and sharpness enhancement), preserving the original frame rate, colour grading, and cinematic feel. It’s perfect for movie lovers who want to see films exactly as directors intended — not "enhanced" by the projector’s software.

- Anyone after a low-maintenance projector with a long-lasting LED engine

Installation Tips from the Experts 🔧
-
Pre-wire your HDMI cable
If you’re building or renovating, now’s the time to run a high-quality, certified 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 cable from your equipment rack to the projector location. It saves a massive headache later. Even if you don’t have the projector yet, getting that cable in place during construction means you’re future-ready for 4K/60 HDR and beyond — no messy retrofits or signal issues down the line. -
Run a spare (just in case)
Consider running a second HDMI or conduit while you’re at it. It’s cheap now, painful later. That extra flexibility can save you when upgrading sources, adding gaming consoles, or installing eARC audio setups down the track. -
Use the lens shift, not keystone
The W4100i gives you vertical lens shift — use it! Avoid relying on keystone correction, which can distort the image and reduce clarity. Mount it at the right height, shift the image optically, and you’re golden. -
Think ventilation
LED projectors run cooler than lamp models but still need airflow. Avoid boxing the unit into tight ceiling cavities without ventilation — especially in warmer climates.
