Description
Audio-Technica AT-LPW40WN Manual Belt-Drive Turntable - Walnut
Manual belt-drive turntable with walnut-finished plinth, carbon-fibre tonearm, AT-VM95E cartridge and a switchable built-in phono preamp for flexible connection to modern or traditional stereo systems.
The Audio-Technica AT-LPW40WN is a manual belt-drive turntable aimed at listeners who want proper analogue fundamentals without a complicated setup. The wood-look plinth, straight carbon-fibre tonearm and supplied AT-VM95E cartridge make it a step up from basic automatic decks, while the built-in phono stage keeps system matching easy.
The previous catalogue page incorrectly stated that there was no built-in phono stage. The AT-LPW40WN does include a selectable phono preamplifier.
Belt-Drive Manual Platform
Simple mechanical layout with electronic speed control
The turntable supports 33-1/3 and 45rpm playback with a speed-sensor motor system designed to maintain accurate platter speed. Manual cueing keeps operation straightforward and gives the user full control over record handling.
Carbon-Fibre Tonearm and VM95E Cartridge
A sensible cartridge platform with room to upgrade
A straight carbon-fibre tonearm is paired with the AT-VM95E moving-magnet cartridge. The VM95 family supports multiple replacement stylus profiles, so future upgrades can be made without replacing the complete cartridge body.
Built-In Switchable Phono Stage
Connect to phono or ordinary line-level inputs
The internal phono preamp can be switched in for amplifiers and powered speakers without a phono input, or bypassed when the system already has a dedicated phono stage. That makes the LPW40WN easier to move between systems.
