The AUDAC SSP500 is a compact two-way flush-mount speaker designed for hot, humid spaces including saunas, bathrooms, wellness areas and swimming-pool environments.

Ordinary architectural speakers are not designed for sustained heat and humidity. The SSP500 uses a heat-resistant ABS enclosure, polypropylene bass driver and aluminium grille to provide a practical 8-ohm audio solution where environmental conditions rule out a conventional in-ceiling speaker.

The SSP500 carries an IP44 rating and is specified for operating temperatures from -40°C to 90°C with relative humidity below 95%. Its enclosure material is heat resistant up to 100°C, while the published operating limit remains 90°C.

That distinction matters in sauna projects. Speaker location, heat zones, steam exposure, cable selection and local installation requirements should all be considered before the ceiling or wall lining is closed.

Two-Way Coaxial Design

Clear background music from a compact flush-mounted format.

A 5-inch low-frequency driver and coaxially mounted 1-inch tweeter provide a quoted frequency response of 75Hz-20kHz. Continuous power handling is 20W AES, with 40W program and 80W peak ratings.

The 86dB sensitivity and 8-ohm impedance make the SSP500 suitable for conventional low-impedance amplification. It is a passive speaker and requires an appropriate amplifier.

Flush-Mount Installation

Compact dimensions with a straightforward four-screw fixing system.

The speaker measures 175mm in diameter and 74mm deep. Installation requires a 120mm round cut-out and 60mm of built-in depth, with additional allowance for the cable and connection behind the speaker.

A cut-out template is included. The white RAL9010 front uses a perforated aluminium grille and can be painted when a different visual finish is required.
