Nordost Odin Gold Tonearm Cable +

To improve upon perfection, changes must be elemental.  NORDOST ODIN GOLD offers the newest and most advanced product line within the industry.  Nordost improves their very composition by introducing a material with stability, conductivity, and tolerance yield transformative enhancements in audio performance.

Where Odin 2 pushed boundaries, ODIN GOLD erases them - producing a realism in playback that would seem impossible from any system, regardless of its components or source material.  Nordost new GOLD option is a revelation to reference audio and clearly surpasses Odin 2 as its new flagship cable range.

Gold has been the preferred material in hifi audio for years. Due to prohibitive cost and sourcing, its use has been limited, most commonly, to high-quality connectors— such as the connection points in Nordost’s proprietary HOLO:PLUG® connectors. However, the elemental characteristics of gold make it the ideal substance, not only for terminations, but for conductors themselves. Gold is highly conductive, meaning that electrical signals can flow through it very easily with minimal resistance. Additionally, it is an extremely stable material which, when used to coat solid copper conductors, renders them

impervious to oxidation and provides an unchanging and reliable signal path. Another benefit of using gold-plating in this capacity is that gold allows for a level of precision that is not possible with other materials. The precise, tight tolerance application of gold during the manufacturing process results in a more predictable energy flow. This has a positive effect upon the natural resonance properties of the conductors themselves during signal transmission, contributing a realism that has never before been possible.

Dual Mono-Filament technology is one of the defining attributes of the Odin Gold range. This revolutionary technology refers to Nordost’s patented process of separating the conductor from its FEP insulation. Each conductor is intricately and uniformly wrapped in a twisted pair of Mono- Filament, before being encased in an extruded layer of high-quality FEP, allowing every conductor to be surrounded by its own air dielectric. This unique process is directly responsible for the dramatic increase in signal speed and excellent mechanical damping that sets Odin Gold apart.

One of the most insidious disruptions to high- fidelity sound reproduction is electronic pollution. By incorporating Nordost’s unique Total Signal Control (TSC) technology, Odin Gold cables protect the remarkable performance and efficiency gained through using Dual Mono-Filament from RFI and EMI, by intricately and uniformly wrapping the conductors in multiple layers of gold-plated, lapped ribbon shielding. When paired with Nordost’s patented HOLO:PLUG® connectors, it ensures 100% total shield coverage without the rigidity that is associated with other shielded cables.

By analyzing the natural resonances of conductors, Nordost has derived a proprietary formula in order to determine the optimal length for each cable according to their unique geometry and function. In cutting each gold-plated conductor to these specific lengths, Nordost is able to eliminate timing errors and enhance the sonic performance of this flagship cable range.

Nordost’s patented, low mass, gold-plated, HOLO:PLUG® connectors are designed to seamlessly fit the internal geometry of each individual cable that they house. HOLO:PLUG® connectors are the perfect marriage of electrical and mechanical tuning, allowing Nordost to have complete control of the most advanced cable line to date. HOLO:PLUG® connectors create the ultimate interface between cable and component, imparting a 3D, holographic image to the musical performance.

In vinyl-sourced systems, the transfer of incredibly delicate signals, carried from the phono cartridge to the phono stage, demands that every aspect of the tonearm cable’s design be optimized for a consummate result. The Odin Gold Tonearm Cable + is the perfect solution for such critical demands.

The Odin Gold Tonearm Cable + takes every element under consideration, from design, to material, to technology, to construction — it even perfects aspects of grounding that remain an unsolved mystery for most audio cable

manufacturers. Nordost’s revolutionary two- prong grounding approach includes both a fully isolated bond ground wire, as well as versatile, detachable ground whips, which ensure that the cable will be able to address any grounding need, regardless of the unique construction of the components used in any sound system. Thanks to these advances, combined with Nordost’s key technologies such as Dual Mono- Filament, TSC Shielding, and Mechanically Tuned Lengths, the Odin Gold Tonearm Cable + achieves a noiseless, hyper-realistic experience that has to be heard to be truly appreciated.
